I first cut my AP chops on a BYAP Courtyard system in 2010, powered by Silver Perch. Nothing special really, but I thought I might as well have a thread for all of my AP systems.

I've found the best way to cook silver perch is to give it to mum. Done right, every time

Thanks Fuzzmonkey it is only while Matthew is away. 2 days but all fun and a bit of a challenge. I do like a bit of variety cause it keeps me on my toes.

For the first time ever, the pH was less than 7! No idea why - maybe it was getting jealous of its sexy IBC cousin.

Luckily the IBC system's pH was constantly 8, so to rectify I switched out 100l of water between them. Having the 2 separate systems is paying off!

In other news: cherry tomatoes LOVE aquaponics...

My cherry tom looks the same as yours but i get tiny fruit off it Not good ones like yours.

My mum's recipe is spring onions, ginger, sesame oil and soy sauce, steamed for 10 mins. It always seems to taste better when she cooks it though.

This time of year the cherry tomatoes aren't that big, but there are still a few. The plant itself doesn't die back in winter as it does in the soil. Even if I cut it right back, it just grows back like a weed!

Thats so true fuzz... when I had my old battle axe IBC twin system side by side it was great for doing the ol switch-a-roo when anything needed correcting. It was great. Wish I had that flexibility now.

Btw cherry tomatoes are crazy aren't they.

this one was in a dirt garden variety 'broad ripple yellow current' and it lasted through the winter pretty well because of the hot north facing brick wall. So as long as you don't get frost and the roots are warmed up its possible.
