finaly got photos of system located in Gidgegannup W.A . we have 85 silver perch in this 1200l tank haowever 50 belong to a friend he just hasnt picked them up yet. The grow tanks are just 2 pond inserts 1200mmx600mmx300mm deep I planted one out about 4 weeks after I introduced the fish. then the other a couple of weeks later. all the plants I have planted have been rejects from the nursery we wouldnt normaly sell
so far the only plants I have lost have been rockmelon seedlings.the most impressive development has been from the silverbeet which I didnt expect to live but has doubled in size in the week sinse I planted them, still a bit hard to see in these photos though.Still have some spare space though & will be planting some strawbs soon.

Nice one NM.. I had seen similar browbeds to those in the shops, but they had all the bottom corners cut off, so the base wasn't square, and these wierd cut off corners felt a bit flimsy.. It looks like one of the beds has sagged a little there at the sides, is it sagging badly, I notice the other one doesn't seem to be? Bit hard to tell from the pics...

How tall is your fish tank?

Great work.... :)

EB, cant remember exactly how deep tank is but I think it is about 600mm deep. both the grow beds have bulged out a little along thier length but not enough to be of concern.

PM, used cracked gravel as a growing medium because my supplier didnt have normal gravel, havent experienced any dificulty planting seedlings.
