Hello Everyone, I've introduced myself under New members so here is my Pond ready to begin growing something.

Pond : 8,000 litres
Fish : About 70 Goldfish plus around 20 Natives
Filter : None as yet
Pump : 1 just to run the UV Clarifier

The photo shows 1 view of the completed pond but half done Deck. Water will be filled to just under the Decking. The Growing area is down the left side against the Neighbours Fence line. So area is about 1 metre out from the Fence and 12 metres long with a height of around 1.6 metres high. Anyone interested in seeing the whole project ( about 30 photos from start to current ) can view these at http://www.kenrussell.info/ourphotos/al ... and%20Deck

What are everyones thoughts on my next step? As explained in the Welcome area I want to begin small and as things begin growing expand and then also learn and understand more too. So I am an open canvas waiting for help ;-)

Thanks in Advance

Ken

Grow Beds? I was thinking I was just using the PVC piping rather then the larger Grow Bed systems? Or do you also call the PVC Grow Beds? Sorry very Limited Knowledge here.

Thanks for those Links RupertofOZ, I have gone through each one and have a little more knowledge now. ( Too much and I'm dangerous ) Will look at a way of designing the pipes so that they look good and don't look too commercial along the side of the Pond. Just don't want to shove a few lengths up against the fence and forget that it will be the first thing seen when walking out on the deck.

Remember that you need to filter the water through a gravel filled barrel or somesuch before it goes through the pvc, or the pvc will become blocked up.

Yes understand once its all green etc ... Just trying to think ahead and make it a feature as well. Found the oval channeling ( Ell-Gro Polypropylene Channel 182mm x 70mm ) so might try and get a Price on this as it looks quite good.

Is Laurrie's system, aqpaponics, or hydroponics R.of. Oz??? and those channels, do you set them level?? or with a few degrees of for water drainage, thinking a few degrees difference would give the flow in the channel.

It's run as an aquaponics system Jessy... although Laurie is apparantly a hydroponics grower of many years...

The system is pre-filtered by the basket of beads on top of the tank... to remove solids...

Would suspect that the hydro channels have a slight incline.
