thanx duff,

yeah i always had trouble cutting a circle :D.

after a few tests i found the water flows better when cut in half that way rather than horizontally, also yours and OBO are cut that way which gave me some reassurance.

should have water test pics up tomorrow, i run out of light today.....

So far the system has,

1 x 500lt sump, with a few yabbies in it

2 x 500lt fish tanks, with about 22 goldies in it.

8 x 50lt & 2 x 50lt the grow beds
which have basil, corn, caps, lettuce, coriander, a grape vine and a banana plant.

with this design (fish tanks out side) i have a lot more room for more growbeds
when they were inside the water temp was getting to high i cooked 2 golding and boiled 30 of my yabbies :x

oh yeah... when i was moving everthing i put the golding in the glass fish tank, after moving back i was suprised to find three babies swimming around a couple of weeks later  they are about 2 cm long will add to the main system when a bit bigger

Better to wait until they are bigger before you boil them. Mine decided to fight until there was a hell of a lot less. :(

wow thats looking great! i sure hope my try works out as good as your has.

im wrestling with FT in or outside of GH decision right now. is ruins weather about like florida i wonder?

i know any GH i do build will have to be dual purpose
keep plants warm in winter and be well vented and shaded in summer.

and i better figure it out beforehand as this 1000 gallon poly tank is sure not easy to move :D

but that sure looks really excellent. im looking forward to seeing more when you can.

highest regards, john

Just a quick update as of today

50 silvers are feeding very happily,

100 golden are feeding but down the bottom somewhere, i had one loss on the weekend
the cat enjoyed him though, all the rest ok. the golden perch are not as social as the other fish, not as fun to watch.

Can anyone tell me how much food i should be feeding each type of fish

the silvers just keep eating, i am feeding them twice a day about a teaspoon each time and they eat that in less tham a minute, should i up the rate so they feed for 3 min twice a day as stated in other threads?

i am feeding them the High Performance Aquatie Nutrition Pellet size from Glenwaters

the golden perch get about 1/4 teaspoon of live worms twice a day but i can not see them eat !
