Ha! That fooled you! You thought "what do they need another system for?" Well, for redclaw, just as I've been saying all along ;)

A few months ago we scored another free IBC, picked up a couple of bath tubs, pulled some timber out of the wood rack, and finally got some time to do something about it all.

This shows the redclaw IBC next to the second sump.

this is the rack that was constructed to hold the bath tubs on the top of the sump IBC

here are the tubs full of gravel ready to go, the plan is to grow vines and train them over the chook yard roof

We've put some gravel in the bottom of the tank, and stacked some bread crates for multi-level living. There are also lots of pipe off-cuts. Oh yeah, bread crates float

I picked up 20 of these little darlings today from a friend, along with about 100 orange guppies and some snails.

This is their Dad, Big Blue. He seems to spend a lot of time sitting in the corner looking tough ;) I couldn't see Mum, she was hiding in her log with the latest lot of babbies still attached. Should be able to get some more once they grow a bit more :D

Are the IBC cages strong enough to hold the gravel up?

Good luck with this system, crustaceans have so much personality they're almost cute!

I sure hope so ;)

We've been standing on there as well while setting it up. The gravel and water have been in for a couple of weeks now.

I haven't seen them since they were put in the IBC! They got dropped in and vanished into the hides. I hope they are getting some of the food. The little fish get a good feed of flakes and some drops down, so fingers crossed.
