I posted some images of my greenhouse back in December and thought I'd start a thread with updates and more pictures. The system is located in Northern Michigan, USA and the goal was to build something that could be operated year around (our winters are pretty rough with lots of snow). I decided to build a geodesic dome because it would weather the snow and wind quite nicely.

The details:

2100 gallons total including the DWC beds, filtration, and fish tank
600 gallon fish tank
3 stage water treatment - laminar flow clarifier, aerobic digester, and a trickle filter
The greenhouse is 2 stories - fish and water stuff downstairs and the grow beds upstairs

I currently have 80 tilapia in the 600 gallon tank with 40 more on order. The build has taken me over 3 years to complete. 1 year of design/budgeting, 1 year to construct the building, and 1 year to build out all the systems inside. In Michigan agricultural buildings do not require permitting so I did everything from the construction, electrical, plumbing, to the gas install. The system is still young, I finished cycling early October, but I've had several full harvests of various greens. Now that summer has rolled around, I have cucumbers, pole beans, tomatoes, and various herbs planted and doing well.

Disclaimer - I don't make any money off the blog. It has a specific domain name because originally I was thinking about starting a business and I never got the motivation.

Nice setup. Good place to go into and escape winter

Great setup! Would love to have a dome frame as well. Currently have a gable frame, not the best in windy conditions but it works. Would love to hear about more updates!
