Hey!!

I've just build my first AP system. It's a 110L Fish tank (100L) with 70L growbed (0,2 square meters of surface and 300mm deep).

Today I'll be doing the last check in. So now I'll have all the water running for the system to stabilize wile I measure all the water parameters until the optimal conditions.
My main concern is about the fish. I was thinking to buy some red and yellow goldfish or some butterfly koi. I can buy them really cheap in Barcelona but are 4-5cm in size, so here my questions:

How many fish should I put? If I'm not mistaken for that much growbed and fish tank volum i should have 1Kg of fish... and any fish of 4-5cm weighs like 2g...
How fast can they grow?

About the plants I was thinking a tomato, maybe some basil and kale. Will I have enough space? Enough fish to feed the plants?

And finally I was thinking in adding some composting worms. Can I put them now or I better wait until i put all the plants and fish?

Well I think this is everythink I have for now, jeje! Hope to hear from you soon! And I'm really excited with this project!

Cheers!

Arnau

Looks great Doc. Keep up the good work. I can't guide you on how many fish because sometimes I have the same question. At anytime in my system which is a similar size to yours I have 4-7 goldfish powering it. I would say start with leafy greens, tomatoes take a lot of nutrients out of your system. Maybe wait until the system gets going good before you try fruiting plants. Regarding the worms, I've been told that there is no bad time to add them, so go right ahead. It is a Flood and drain system correct?

Thanks!

Yes it's a flood and drain system, well technically there are two of them (I wanted to recicle two boxes I had so I could spend a little less money). But both work at same rate. Ok then I'll start with few goldfish and some leafy greens!!

Thanks again!! I'll keep you updated!!
