We've moved yet again but should be in this apartment for atleast 15 months so trying again. It's a second floor apartment with a approx 9'x6' balcony. I have partial shade on balcony with winter sun angle 36degree and summer up to 84degree.

I'm planning a small system like this 1 barrel system Nat made to start, download/file.php?id=54447. Some additional growbeds or wall mounted NFT for expansion. It will be fancy goldfish, herbs, and veggies.

Yay the memory of Nat lives on. He did a couple of neat little barrel systems worth replicating.
Good luck with the build.

I can't figure out how to get the sun shadows to work. Here is a sketchup of my balcony. The door on the angled wall swings into apartment with hinges on system side.

Media will be scoria/lava rock to reduce weight. Weight comes out to 255lbs per bed which keeps lb/ft2 loading below standard building code limits.
