This is another Musk renovation that looks as promising as his car.

My last quarter power bill was $800,and we turn lights off in rooms, don't have stuff going all day. The worst was having the heater on for a few hours at night during winter.

Basically we're being ripped off, and the gov solar tariffs are going to end next year.

The powerwall, or the Australian Redflow will be game changers. They'll be everywhere.

I'm seeing where Forbes calculated the cost at 30 cents per kilowatt hour and that the average American consumer pays 12.5 cents per kilowatt hour.

Sounds great and I like the idea but I'm hoping there will be a more feasible alternative economically speaking.

If you are wanting to save money on your overall energy cost, the Tesla battery doesn't really cut it yet, and there are others already on the market here that cost less, such as LG Chem, and they are still too expensive as well.

Balqon in the US has the best battery deal, but they are not available in Oz, and don't seem particularly interested in selling them here- they didn't bother responding to my email about freight cost to Oz.

Why dont you get solar installed on your house Colum?

We're not planning on staying here for more than 5 years, doesn't seem worth it for that amount of time :(

Lease it then, zero up front and you're ahead financially for about 8 years over outright purchase. PM me if you want any more info, lest this turns into advertising and upsets the mods ;)
