Hello everyone and on behalf of my family at Cobb Family Farms thank you for checking out our thread. We started building our system a couple weeks ago and will be finished by the end of the month. We are using blue Tilapia and will be growing plenty of different greens and vegetables. Some supplemental lighting is going to be required until we expand into greenhouses and thankfully those lights will be supplied by Flextronics. I am their Regional Representative and when they heard about our system and the progression of the aquaponics market they decided to supply the lights for us so we can do some R&D for them! How awesome is that! Thanks again to everyone for checking us out and please follow along with us as we will be updating this as much as we can. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v9f25kfex1c

Hello everyone, here is an update on the system. Still some work to do, but the system is running fine. Some plants were thrown in a little early to help get the ecosystem up and running. Thanks for viewing!

Y'all are quite organized, smart and or lucky about the lights too. Can you tell us more about the lights please?

Thank you, plenty of planning and organization went into the system. My father has been a contractor/carpenter for 35 years and pays attention to detail. The lights we are using at the moment are made by Flextronics (www.lusiolighting.com) This particular model is the HiOptix Flexgrow 1000 and both lights are set at 5000k. These LEDs (along with the other models when they arrive) are full spectrum and have a life of 200,000 hours. The life of these lights and the great quality of light make them great for agricultural lighting/supplemental. One of the purposes of our testing is to identify which lights will work best for multiple plants and growing methods. We will be testing multiple models against one another and will include kelvin comparisons as well. Please check out their website www.mkbenergy.com for more detailed information on the lights

Thought everyone might enjoy seeing how durable these lights from Flextronics are.

Very Impressive durability test, your AP system looks very nice as well. How deep are those DWC beds?

Float beds are set at 6" and levels are maintained between the beds with a bench siphon
