In today's paper, someone stole 400 lbs of tilaipa at a local non profit AP system. Tampa Bay Harvest was preparing to harvest and donate the food to local homeless/hungry.

They were raised for 12-14 months. They climbed a fence, jumped into the FT, then netted the fish.
The tank was damaged as well.

The fish were valued at $2000.00, so the police have it as grand theft. What a shame. We had another guy, recently caught, stealing from churches North of me. WTH is wrong with people? 2 things I hate the most, thieves and lairs. Try working for a living.

Who'd want to steal fish?

It seems like an odd thing to steal. Something like a tv you can pawn or sell on, but fish are far harder.

Unless you were in the fish industry..

You bid at auctions for stock, or you climb a fence, filet the fish and sell as whatever ..

That is really sad. I hope they catch the ones who did it. If this was all about money there is many more logical choices to make a quick dollar than netting out live tilapia.

I hope they find whoever did this. Theft is one thing, but to damage the system that so much time and money went into will have to be shut down and repaired is a dick move.

I can see it being an inside job. Having the fish stolen just a few days before they where going to be donated.

Yeah, very sad. They mentioned something about an inside job, because of the timing. They were to harvest this weekend.

Ryan, yes, they would get stuck. :D

I understand that the FBI has ruled out an organized crime link.
No one was actually found, ‘sleeping with the fishes’
Local police report they have interviewed several known, cat burglars.!
No collars and few leads.
Any link with the nearby, ‘SEAL” base has been denied by the authorities.
A local detective said, I will just follow my nose!
Rumors that the NSA had re -tasked a satellite with a fish eye lens have been discounted.
Local people are reportedly shocked. Super markets report increased sales of canned tuna.
This reporter is suspicious!
Something is fishy!

Respect.. respect has largely gone.. the sense of community has gone..
So many now believe they have the right To take what they lack.
And then there is drugs that completely change how a normally rational person thinks..
