Im starting a thread to try to keep me moving in the system development.

I had a rush of blood and ordered a greenhouse and picked up some of the cheap bunnings 500ltr tanks that are not supposed to be used for drinking water ( have done my research and decided that they are OK to use, at least for the start). I have two old iron bath tubs a 250ltr round cattle trough and a few 55ltr tubs.

I happen to work next door to a plumbing supplies shop and with a bit of negotiation managed to get myself a trade acount which cuts the hardware store prices in half for my fittings and stuff.

I have broken ground and levelled a site for the greenhouse and started the construction. It has been too windy to even finish the frame, but this weekend it gets done for sure.

I need to get the tanks in befoe the plastic because they wont fit through the door. I am buying two of everything so i can set up a system outside as well for when it gets too hot. My plan is to grow the fingerlings slowly over the winter in the greenhouse and then move the outsider to grow them out.

I will add photos when i figure out how. (Is there a post somewhere that tells you how?)

In the background you can see my motivation to ge the AP system running. Behind the fence that keeps the roos out is my overgrown veggie garden. Chook house behind and some fruit trees in blossom. Just couldn't see myself getting contol of it any time soon  Then i had an inspiration and here I am

The tanks and sumps are in and connected. Tanks are connected using an overflow back to the bathtubs which are connected via the drain holes.

Next for the grow beds  I am going to use 55ltr tubs on stands i will build over the bathtubs and elsewhere in the greenhouse. I am testing the loop siphons i plan to use. Finally seems to be working after a few days of trials.

Now i think i have the siphon worked out i am going to get the grow beds cycling. I can fit 4 or 5 tubs next to the fish pond. That will give me a few weeks to make the stands and get the plastic on the greenhouse.

All in all not a bad weekends work.
