Hi all! Shane here, new to the Aquaponics game but myself, the wife, and #2 son are all super excited to get our feet wet :D

Going with a simple Constant Flow IBC system to get started. Shale is washed and ready on the trailer. Got the dirty work done on the IBC today and the bed raked out for pavers.

Welcome Shane.

I am a noob also and am starting my first system as well. I'll have a thread and some pics up soon.

Keeping it simple, especially on the first one, is definitely a plus from what I have read throughout the forums.

Looking good so far, keep us updated and keep the pics coming.

Heya guys....thanks.

Yea keeping it simple for sure. We love this and are super excited about it.

Things have come together so quickly and so smoothly that I have about executed all the plan I had layed out in my head

Ok....new steps in the plan

Pick up some sand for leveling today and start laying pavers. i can get that done in about an hour.

Set system in place and start plumbing (got to pick up a couple fittings)

Punch through brick and run permenant electrical. Actually already done in piccy (xten cord for now)

Get shale in place and get some water flowing!

(note to self....order test kit today)

Im in the middle of nowhere halfway between Hous and Dal so I thought availability would be an issue. Ends up that a local tank company had IBC's for 225 new. Most of the expanded shale for the US is quarried about 20 miles up the road from me and a large fishery is about 15 miles the other way.

HappyHappy :D

Looking good!

Just make sure the beds are in an area that get plenty of natural light, otherwise you won't get the best growth.

Roger that. That spotty light is at 6:30 in the evening. Going to be spotty like that from about 1pm on. About 50% morning exposure and 100% light from about 10am to 1pm.

Curious...tried...no joy....lemme know when you find it. :?

@Dad_Roman - Take a look at the tutorials attached below, it might be helpful. You can ask a MOD to help resize the pictures you had already posted. Any MOD on? Please help.

Is there no "EDIT" button here?

No way to go back and rework your posts?

Yes, no edit button, unless the post is fairly new. Prevents people from going back and deleting their posts and destroying conversations.

welcome to the forum :thumbright: I'm loving the paver work you did there, that looks similar to how I'm going to be doing my future IBC set up (when I can finally get moved into a house that is :( ).
