So I bought nine adult silver perch from a fishmonger and the only food they'd accept was live worms. After much trial and error trying to get them to accept pellets, here's what worked for me:

I stopped feeding the perch altogether and put a single goldfish in the tank. Started feeding small amounts of small floating pellets, which the goldfish readily devoured. After three weeks as the perch got really hungry they started to respond to the feeding behaviour of the goldfish and started coming to the surface to take the pellets. Four of the nine perch have now started accepting pellets from the surface. I'm Hoping the rest will follow suit as starvation sets in, but pretty happy with the results so far.

Yeah they're all devouring the floating pellets now. I added three new perch the other week and only took them a couple of days to join in the feeding frenzy.
