hey Everyone,

Beautiful day for A-P-ing!!

I just picked up 30 SP and they're floating in the FT in their plastic bag. I thought I'd run a quick pH test on the water they're in at the moment because I am a bit worried about losing them when I put them in the tank.

My FT has a pH of 7.6 and the water they're in is 6 - a pretty big difference!! Any suggestions on how to make the transition easier for them??

Thanks
A

Open the bag and add small amounts of your water to the bag. Say 250 /500ml. Fish like a high PH but not to fast. Every half hour is the recommendation but make sure if you can to add extra air to the bag. Taking the added water from where your water enters your fish tank can help if its producing bubbles. I just put the air stone in my bags. But I don’t know what you have got.

Hi AmandaG,

I would open the bag at the seal and add small amount of your water. Give fish some time then add some more, just don't let them run out of air. Otherwise use a container that you can put a air stone in and mix in your system water over a few hours This is how I would do it anyway.

Silver Perch optimum range is PH 7 to 9 and very bad is levels PH 5 to 10

I'm in a similar situation my system PH is 7.8 with new fish coming soon. I ring my supplier and ask their water PH and salt PPT a week out from pick up to get my system right.

God bless, froggo.

Hey sorry Blizzard posting at same time :wave1:

Thanks guys - you rock!! :headbang: Just had to race down the pet shop to get a new air pump...mine just stopped working (always the way when you need it most!!). Anyway, they're in their bag, suspended in the FT with an air stone cranking 400L per minute :D Adding a little water every 15 mins. Thanks for your help!!!
