So I have started a system here in socal and am a little more than half way done constructing. I have an IBC for the fish tank that overflows in to a NFT and a grow bed filled with red lava and a bell valve. those two drain into a four barrel sump tank system that is linked together with 5/8th in hose line. the nft and the bed drain into the first barrel in the series and the pump is in the last barrel in the series. The pvc lines from the ft to the bed and the nft and then to the sump are all 1 inch. I have one question. do you think the 5/8 hose line will be wide enough to provide sufficient water flow from the barrel to barrel so that there is enough water in the barrel where the pump is located? thanks for any and all input

tested out the hose system. epic fail! not enough water flow. so i re plumbed the barrels with 1 inch pvc and now it works like a dream. doing some more plumbing today and will put up some more pics
