Well its definitely been a while since I have been in the forum or even playin with the AP system I first built. I've been off renovating houses since my last effort but am back with a rough idea for the new space which is 7m x 2.2m.

I'm hoping to put in two self contained systems that don't have anything to much in ground. My idea so far is to have a tank within a tank... mmm confusing I know.

The plan is to use tanks from here...

http://rapidplas.com.au/products/round-troughs-36.cfm

Basically, the PTT13WB (Main tank) would be the first tank on the ground followed by the PTT11WB (Fish tank) placed inside it. The 470mm remaining in the main tank would be filled with media and used as the grow bed.

I've attached a drawing of my thoughts so far but not sure if I can make the plumbing work.

Any ideas on how it might be possible on the plumbing side of things would be great.

Cheers

Other than using a sump tank I haven't good a idea on how to do that.

One possible option could be to create void underneath the fish tank and suck the water back into the Fish Tank.

I don't think its a good use of the outer tank. It seams a shame to waste the whole center of the outer tank like that.
Can't you put the tanks side by side and have two fish tanks and buy some grow beds.

If the fish tank were 1/3 of the grow bed at least you would have a good ratio of fish/plant.
