This video was recorded about a week after it started cycling. The water was still dingy from the gravel I added. Since I've added another Anaheim and a Jalapeno.

Nice work.

Plant it out, get it cycled then add some fish. The only thing left to do then is to sit back, relax and enjoy it.

I do need to add more fish. Right now, I need to cover the fish tank. The algae is coming on fast. I need to work on that. I know a little is ok, but right now the water is about like it is in the video, but green.

I have some catfish in my FT; since I added them I haven't had algae problems. Aussie cats that is, tandanus tandanus - from what I have read most cats will eat algae and clean things up.

It does take alot of attention. I was thinking about adding some small cats and crawdads. I currently have 3 bluegills and about 12 creek chubs. All are small, but I did catch them in a minnow trap except for the bluegills and one of the bigger chubs, they came off of a 1/16 oz Rooster Tail.

Very true indeed, most times I wonder out in the yard to do something I get side tracked and end up either fiddling with the AP systems picking vegies or manicuring the plants. often forgetting what I went outside to do in the first place

Update. I was having problems with my plants keeping their blooms. Figured that it was an iron problem. Got some liquid iron from the local hardware store and added about 3 oz. That seemed to settle down the algea also. I also added 20 feeder goldfish and was able to propagate a cutting from my tomato plant. Cut it 5 days ago and it is still upright. So I think that was everything from this week.

Generally blossom drop is either from lack of fertilisation (of the flower), or plant stress, or sometimes lack of nutrients.. Iron deficiencies show up in the leaves.

Shouldn't be locking iron out to a great extent at that pH... try sourcing/adding some Maxicrop+Iron...

Or get some chelated Iron.. of the right sort... :D

I know it's probably a little overkill, but my aunt called the other day and said that she had some tomatoes sprouting in her backyard where she throws her scraps. Well long story short, I know have 13 more tomato plants. LOL. Now I'm trying to convince some neighbors that they need to start a small system and take some of these plants for the winter.

Also, other plants are doing better. I have started pollinating the flowers and they are now staying and already have one pepper beginning to form. I guess we learn through experience and helpful tips.
