Hey, I noticed that my system seems to be losing water but I cant seem to find any leaks. I was wondering if it could be due to evaporation. My system is in a greenhouse and the temps are around 90 during the day. Could my water be evaporating or could there be a leak that have not found yet?

AP systems always lose water through evaporation and plant transpiration, although your system could reasonably be expected to not lose as much as most since it is in an enclosed (I presume), humid environment. Why not get someone else to have a good look for leaks in your system? A second set of eyes may prove to be more objective in its examination of your handiwork.

Mine will go through 100 gallons a week when it is hot out, and I don't have any leaks.

Yep... depending on temp/humidity... you can easily lose 10-20% of your water volume... from transpiration...

Damn thats intense. I was thinking about maybe adding some duck weed to the top of my fishtank, maybe that will help to reduce evaporation. I figur it will reduce the surface area exposed to the sun. But the duck weed will use water, so we will see.

Also maybe if i cover the Fishtank?

You wont lose a lot of water from your tank... from evaporation...

You may lose some water through evaporation... if you media is sparsely covered... i.e new seedlings...

Almost all your losses... will be from transpiration...
