Hi everyone,

First of all, Id like to thank everyone on here for creating this unique community and sharing information. Im new to this business/hobby and am seriously considering going to school for it. I initially thought raising fish would definitely require a degree in aquaculture, however I am seeing some websites that say they teach it, and it is better than a university degree because its "hands on". Has anyone heard of these particular organizations?:

http://morningstarfishermen.org/

http://aquaponics.com/page/project-planning-services

^this guy charges $950/hr for consultation. He apparently teaches this class at university of wisconsin.

They seem legit, and have 1day to 8 week programs. Are these programs worth it? And do any of you have experience with them?

Where to study Aquaponic?

In your backyard with a system you built with your own hands by researching this site/forum (are there any other sites/forums out there :dontknow:)

EB - you need to get your graphic artist to put Journeyman's post into pictures like the Mastercard adverts.

If you are planing to raise fish as a business, you are definetly better off with a UNI degree, compared to a course/workshop in AP or just "studys" of a forum web page.
If you aim for a hobby level then you can get a lot out of websides like this and other, but would learn a lot by atending handson classes as well.

Nelsen/Pade are legit for sure the other site I don't know ?

cheers

Perhaps he's growing his own hops and barley... then there was the brew kit... the pot to boil, the storage bottle... etc. and, finally, bottling one's own brew and labels... gotta have a label.

Cost of beer is so expensive in Australia, mostly taxes.

$80 will get you mainstream packaged muck, something with a bit more flavour will cost upwards of $50 for 25 x330ml stubbies.

Cost of living in the great southern land is pretty bloody high.
