but making some changes to fit to a hothouse

There is heaps of advise from everybody here, please post intended pictures and diagrams, i am sure it will flow

i will be i have got 4 ibc and waiting for a hothouse. It sucks i can only have rainbows would like to have a number of types to pick from

Id can the idea of the CHOP 2..... not a very good design.

Do the letters SCA mean anything to you Zane?

the original chop is a better design, in chop you pump from sump to fishtank and gravity feed to all growbeds which then returns fully filtered water to yout sump ready to do the whole thing over again.

Chop2 gravity feeds to the sump then the pump pumps to all the growbeds and to the fishtank straight from the sump so you get solids doing mutiple passes through the fishtank plus chop 2 you need a bigger pump to pump to everything instead of letting gravity do its thing.

so your saying there would be better water movment

CHOP2 is a flawed design idea which requires the use of an oversized pump. If you have the correct pump for the system, CHOP2 configuration "doesn't work". In any case, the CHOP2 design spreads solids to parts of the system where solids should never get to.

If you have a pump larger than needed in a CHIFT PIST design, it's simpler and more effective to circulate the water ST to ST for additional aeration.

sory what do u mean about CHIFT PIST design

CHOP = constant height, one pump
CHIFT PIST = constant height in fish tank, pump in sump tank

i was planing on having the FT dug in to the ground to keep it warmer. so i was going to have the sump to auto level with tye tank and pump from the FT
