Hello all,

I have been having probs with bugs eating leaves in grow beds, and this weekend I have found lots of caterpillars on the silver beets. I am wondering if anyone knows if it is safe to use a small amount of Eco Neem on plants. It says it is organic and it is an oil from a Neem tree. Says it does not hurt "good" bugs.

Or... what else can I use. What has worked for others please.

I have SP's and they are doing well.
Thanks,

Linda

It is oil based, so is not recommended. Oil and soaps are suffocants to fish.

Recommended from caterpillar is dipple.
Recommended for white mildew and thrips etc is Eco-rose

My alternative to treat caterpillars is my thumb and forefinger... But you have to keep on top of it.

Hi Linda
I usually pick caterpillars off and toss into the silver perch tank. They love them. If you are really determined to spray I'd sugest Yates DIPEL HG Bio-insecticide. The packaging states it does not harm other insects, birds, FISH or warm blooded animals. Not sure about Eco Neem but it is oil based ...I think.

Hahaha. It seems I cant type fast enough :D

Charlie, the pepper shaker sounds GR8. :flower:
