This is my 3rd outdoor system I've built. I've used the same top growbed for all 3 but just recently added the second. I'd really love to here your suggestions as I've just been winging it so far. Would love any tips or comments.

I saw this on youtube the other day - I thought it looked pretty cool for such a small space, looks like a fun system.

It's definitely a fun system this is the 3rd arrangement I have come up with using the same growbed and my favorite of the 3. I'm gearing up to make a larger system still need a few missing components. I plan on recording the process from start to finish. I made an update video today of the system but the camera wants to fight me over uploading the pics :dontknow: Gonna go grab a card reader tomorrow so should have another video as well as more pics.

Here Is an older pic. This was taken when the system was first planted back in june 2011. The video was made 8-21-2011. So that should give you the an Idea of what 2 months of growth has done.

I'm still trying to figure out a better growbed (deeper/larger) than what I have now for my larger system. The tank I plan on using is 275 gallon. I also picked up a 12ft round by 3ft deep swimming pool but... the growbed for something that big would have to be ridiculously large. So the plan is to use the 275 tank and 275-300 gallon of growbed volume. I really want to use catfish to grow out but not sure how many I can raise in just 275 gallon and they have a tendency to eat smaller tank mates. I will keep the community updated once the project starts getting underway.

:thumbleft: Your water is nice and clear. Where will the inside system be located, next to a window?

Water stays nice and clear until I top up from the tap. We have well water and it's very irony. It clears back up within a matter of hours tho. Indoor system will be next to a large south facing window. I was tempted to try and build a greenhouse around this system but haven't had the time to do so. Next year maybe I will be able to leave it outdoors year round but as for now all the fish and any plants I can save will be moving inside for the winter.
