Of topic... I bet that mulcher comes in handy. I would love one of those bad boys. Oh and whats that cream/white coloured crate thingy in the background of the second photo?

Yeah love the mulcher, it's Chinese thing I got of FleaBay out of Melbourne for $1100, had it about 4 years now. It has copied Honda 13hp motor on that hasn't missed a beat, Honda parts bolt right on apparently. I ran it 2 weeks straight 8 hours a day when I first got it, now only run a few days a year unless one of my mates borrow it.

Crate is actually Grey, it's known in the Vegie industry as a Lettuce crate, they pack lettuce in the for the markets and shops, this one is unbranded and found it's way into my yard some how. I have all the bags from the hydroton in it at the moment.

Another quick up date

Got some more done today, grow bed ready.
Just need to level out the area for system, add growing media, water and fish

Managed to get a but more done today........
Got it in place ready for water, fish, grow medium, and need to get the air and water pumps in next.

Hey thanks for sharing really well photographed for newbies like me.

A little bit more this morning, got a pump, air pump and some growing media this morning from BYAP.
Also made a Kid proof cover. NOte also the hose from the water pump to the grow bed.



Growing media, 6 bags, I will clean this before it goes into the grow bed as I believe that by cleaning it that way it also fills the media with water and it does not float in the grow bed as has been reported. To see how I washed the media see my other thread.

Nearly finished.
Today got the media washed and added, I also added about 50l of media from one of my current grow beds to aid in cycling, filled the system with water and it's happily pumping way.



Also installed the safety barrier and put some 90% shade cloth on it to keep the light out.



Just need to finish the distribution pipe around the grow bed add plants and fish (fingerling sp).

Getting ready to gi to Troutmans place and get 50 SP fingerlings, checking and loading the esky, make sure the air pump works and the inverter from my camper to run the air pump.

Troutman counting the fingerlings into the sky and they are all happy ready for the trip home.
