Why not take VB up on his offer for a couple of his 1000ltr aquaculture tanks..... fingerling one now.... the other in the New Year.

Eat the first lot and restock with trout..... eat the second lot and restock with trout....

Eat the first lot of trout about this time next year and restock with Silvers or Barra .... etc etc

time to pull the bed down methinks. it has given me its all :(

plants have just sat there and done nothing, not even the tommies or basil are moving.............and i know how quickly they grew last year in the AP

Suggestions for style of system and location in backyard are now being taken

Hey Steve maybe eating the fish is the problem, why dont you pay a visit and have a look you dont need all the bells and whistles and it can be very simple and very productive.
Jim.

jim, am very much wanting to visit. you're still hosting one of the get togethers?

mine certainly doesn't have any bells ;) you['re probably right, i haven't measured nitrates and i only have 8 fish who aren't feeding much. but still the bed is very water logged. :) i think i will set up some NFT's in the mean time, just need to think hard about where i'm putting the blue barrel ;) 200+ kgs to move and you cant syphon out gravel ;)
