well the water has been running constant flood for about 48 hrs and the water is clearing up slowly with the filter wool under the out flows, I turned the pump off for a few minutes this evening and a few of the fish gathered around the airstone and were playing in the bubbles, they look healthy enough.
I scooped a couple out this morning and had a look at them, I'm paranoid about not being able to see through the water and scooping a few up seems to be the best way to check on them :dontknow: i have turned the timmer back on to give the roots of the plants some air and give the worms a breather, I'll wack it back on constant flood in the morning.
hopefully i'll have time to do a quick water test in the morning, hopefully can start to feed a little bit soon too

Did some "colour science" as my 6 year old calls it.
Amm is up a bit as are the rites, still holding off on feeds, although I put in 4 pellets to see if they would eat and they did, salt is now at 6 parts and all fingers are still crossed.
Rhubarb plants are a bit yellow but they are only really living on seasol and hopes and dreams.

Well the trout seem quite active and happy this arvo and the water seems to be clearing, I could actually see the goldfish in the sump today.

Bonus, not only was today the nicest day in recent history, but I just had a look in my almost empty pond only to find a trout still kicking it in there with the lonely old goldfish. I have put him in the sump and named him lucky!
Murphys law will probably have him dead by the weekend thinking about it, might go and move him :support:

So ive been thinking about my system and I feel there is something missing.
So I'm going to build a radial paint swirl filter and then I think ill trade all my fish in for some photos of fish as im worried that they will clog up my grow beds.
Also gunna build a compost heater to cool down my sump tank stands and also am planning an underground nft coconut grove for citrus production over the winter Christmas period.

Peace out homies.......

Well this cycling thing seems to be working, so I fed the fish with the girls, fish were pretty happy with that.

just thought I'd see if anyone actually reads this, as it turns out my sump stands are quite warm already :laughing3:
just thought that rolled together and summed up the posts i'd read lately :dontknow:

On a serious note though, i'm pretty happy that the system seems to be cycling, the fish seem happy, plants are growing still and I've had no HSM moments yet, Touch wood! :thumbright:

Tell me about it, there have been some corkers!

And that's all you can ask for, so top stuff in my opinion :-) glad it's all ticking along nicely for you so far.
