Now that's cool. Buying more drums tomorrow.

I have 19 telapia about 4-5cm long in the tank.

Started building my main tank. playing around with airlift pumps at the moment.

Did you have a template to cut the drum or just with the eye?

The 1st cut I laid the Tank barrel on its side on the floor almost against the wall.
I put the half barrel on top using the wall to support and provide a square edge.
I then used a yardstick with a sharpie to project a line of dots onto the tank barrel.
I then cut along the line.
The next step - make a friggen template for the other cuts

When I got home this afternoon, my son had the table saw out and my garage was coated in pulverized skateboard :-\
I took the opportunity to make a bit of progress on the T Barrel systems I've been building between the gaps.
I did a bit more of the messy work.

Sanded down the wood frames, made up the tower supports. Made up the gravel guards and T insert for the tower.
Was contemplating cutting the slots for the pots in the towers too when I ran out of steam. Better not to rush that part me thinks.
Besides the good wife had started prairie dogging.

But they are definitely starting to look like the picture in my head ;D

Here's a progress pic of the Deep Water Culture tank.

I have neglected to take pics for a while, some of the plants have already been through their life cycle already.
I have cleared everything to make space for the tomatoes which have exploded. Especially the bush in the middle.

Thanks BamBam,

I was amazed that at the root growth, the plant was about 300 high and the plume of root was about 700mm long.

Funny you should mention the Christmas lights, my good wife just asked if I could use the off-cuts to make a Christmas tree. I was thinking a wall hanging version, the kittens will make short work of anything free standing.

Hey, my son and I went fishing at the quarry today and must have caught about 50 of these dudes. Can one use them for Aquaponics? They're called bluegill, the colours were awesome

Bluegill is a popular choice. Very hearty. Plus, if you caught them nearby, you know they are pretty well climatized.

Cool thanks man,
We caught about 50 in the space of an hour and a half.
The "pond" is an old quarry and is insanely deep.
I hooked a giant koi but alas the hook parted after a bit of a fight.
Later we saw an even bigger one - white
people must have released them in there.
