Yeah c1, I love the shape of the hat - it kinda bests my efforts of having the central standpipe higher to hold up a piece of shadecloth draped over the tank - will get around to doing something elegant after I get a few GBs up and running (damn it looks cool in a green house tho :sigh: )

Have you found that they will feed later in the afternoon David? My silvers are like that, they don't feed in the morning, but by late afternoon the water temp has gone up a couple of degrees and they are keen for a feed..

Exactly.... when I show anyone my system I always finish with... imagine behind you with a huge tank and big growbeds......

Everyone knows the first (small) system is either as a proof of concept to convince significant others or to satisfy an itch.... that always needs scratching.

My fish are like that also EB. Problem is that to keep the temp loss to a minimum, I am now turning off the pump to the beds at night (have aeration). Because of this - I am a bit relucatant to feed too late in the day. I wonder how long it takes between when a fish eats and craps :|

How is your humidity escaping? Is it just condensing on top of plastic and running down the walls?
