One loss, it never recovered from transplant shock. Others started eating it.
Others are fine and I'm adding small handfuls of feed. Ammonia staying under 0.25 ppm.

Another one today. Looks kike it's been bit just behind the dorsal fin. It seems plenty active. I moved it to safer water with the goldfish.

Here is a picture of the trauma to my fish. It looks like another fish bit this one. Does anyone know if channel catfish are that rough on each other?

I assume it is one of the two that seemed shocked from the transplant. The others are doing well.

Due to the channel catfish virus, catfish are heavily regulated in California.

Catfish are readily available in Oklahoma. I believe selling or transporting them requires a license.

I don't think they deliver all the way to California

That patch on the back could be Culumnaris disease which is a bacteria that tends to strike catfish if there are any water quality issues or stress or skin injury. If it is just a small white patch, they might recover but when it gets bad enough that eyes, or mouth or tail seems to be rotting off or you can see flesh because the skin is gone from over it, they will probably NOT recover and it is best to put them out of their misery.

The bacteria is pretty much everywhere so it isn't like you can clean it out of the system, just make sure not to subject the fish to poor water quality and don't overfeed or stress/injure them repeatedly. If I have a sick fish that is sick enough that I can easily dip the net in and catch it without disturbing the other fish then I will do it. IF the fish is still swimming well enough to make it difficult to net, I don't bother because I would be at greater risk of injuring other fish who may then be prone to coming down with the illness as well.

You mean, due to California politicians trying to take every dime from the state residents, catfish are heavily regulated.
