Every second Wednesday my daughter finishes school early and gets home around 12:30... luckily today was one of those days...
Rang me while was onsite in Mittagong to say the power was tripped... and she couldn't reset it... and the trout were gasping on the surface...
The other fish were fine...
The battery backup on the trout system is only good for about two to three hours... and with about 50+ kilo of fish in the tank... I figured they must have been without oxygen for about an hour and a half...
Which means the darn power must have tripped not long after I left this morning...
After about a half an hour... numerous phone calls... and numerous combinations of removing pumps/filters etc... and resetting...
We managed to isolate the pump in the Silver Perch tank as the device causing the trip...
Got everything back online... other than the offending growbed supply pump...
By the time I got home... all but about three trout were fine... the three looking like they wouldn't make it...
Given that I'll be away most of the next month... with the "Holmes-A-Court" project, trips to Wyong/Newcastle... Dubbo, Brewarrina and Nyngan for deliveries and installations... then commencement of the "Skills Garden" project (more later)...
And with some of the trout close to a kilo... decided to bank some fish and lower the oxygen load in the tank in case of failure...
Took a few lucky dip scoops... and pulled 20 trout... to be vacumn packed...
All up... 20 trout... 11.36kg... an average weight of 568gm...
