hahahaha I can see how that last post was misleading :]

So we had a beach day, and saturday night a friend of mine, who has a Frontosa we plan on eating, mentioned that he was willing to eat the big tilapia if I got it to the beach alive. He may have been trying to discourage me but little did he know our commitment to eating his Frontosa, so I got the big tilapia there. He deprived me of the pleasure of seeing it being slaughtered, I was out when he had a surgeon friend decapitate, gut and scale it. I have some video of the head of it which was twitching its lower jaw alive as the surgeon said for about 30 minutes after the actual killing as he severed the spine and left the brain intact.

Sadly, said friend was unable to cook it properly and it came out horribly undercooked and remained uneaten. He did a marvelous job with the steaks though so some consolation.

I don't know where the guts went though I assume into the trash, the head I'm not sure I should share with you guys what I did to. We were at the beach you see, and well when you get to see burqas at the beach that really only leaves you just one avenue of activity and we partook in it rather excessively, if you know what I mean.

So I wanted to do an update on Sunday but had no battery, then same issue yesterday. Basically the fry were ready to be taken out so I did that, took a bit of work but got them from the mama, about a dozen of them wound up back in the bathtub and about another dozen in the cichlids bellies when their little fry aquarium got floated in that tank.

However.

Today when I got back from work the fry aquarium is empty! They're all gone save one lone fry, no evidence of any other carnage, the cichlids must've gotten them out through the little holes in the bottom.

Anyhew the other fry are doing great, and I'm sure those tilapia will breed again at least once more before winter so will get another batch. Update tomorrow if I get done with work early enough or have time in the morning before I go to the office.

Hope you guys are having a great week, remember to smile, cheer [:
