they normally read higher.
to be on the safe side.
would hate for the buggers to take up floating, swimming is much better.

ahh,
i thought the bacteria growing in the medium had to be between 20*-25*

it must be alot of effort to keep it at 15*.. no chance of keeping trout in brisbane then.. heh

chook, 20-25 was for optimal bacterial growth at start up, they will go all the way down to above freezing with a corresponding drop in efficiency per colony size.

i'm at the end of my trout growing season. i'll keep the two largest ones in a tank indoors. if i get my heat exchanger chiller happening soon i may leave them in for a while longer just to play with the device, but i'm not going to expend energy on 38C days to keep them :)

we had 3 days in a row of 35+ the ponds were like soup with cordial bottles floating around
