So if ive got this right - It ok for you to put your mega system in, as long as u dont sell anything. I dont see ho its anyones busines what size your grow tables are ect. Same as a chook pen. I would have thought disance from fence lines would have been more of the issue.

Perhaps the 8000Ltr tank is an issue because of its size, however am I right to assume that you can make your sytem as long as you dont sell anything?

As far as the sale of produce is concerned. What is the law for normal growers, selling something they have grown in the ground. I can understand the selling of fish side of things... there is all sort of laws involved with that involving DPI etc.

If you sell anything.... you're in breach of "residential" zoning laws....

Unless you apply and are granted an approval to operate as a "home business"....

The combination of tank in garage and hydro trays means that there isn't room for the required "two car parking spaces... so they wont approve a "home business"...

I already have put in place the notification to the Food Authority regarding any sale of veges...

And would have been required to get two license later in order to supply fish to restaurants etc.... one of which requires an inspection of the vehicle used to transport the fish...

Had already developed a HACCP plan regardless....

But a "hobby" system for supply of food for personal consumption is allowable and requires no licensing or formal consent.....

So yep... the mega system... slightly scaled down ... is a goer..... just going to have to rearrange filtration issues a bit....

Always intended to filter heavily before the hydro trays anyway.... just using them to suck up extra nitrates.... just need to substitute something else to do the shortfall.... whatever...

hey roper, looks like where you're setting up may be an easement, and the reason for that is probably that shonky looking "pit"................just make sure you're not going to have to pull everything down if some escavator needs access for repairs of whatever the "pit" leads to ;)

Pics were taken late afternoon/evening Les.. around 17:30...

Slightly shaded on the northern end during winter.... could have moved the trays a bit south, but wanted to stay within the "building line".... and have other plans for growbeds that end
