I aim to put one in my pump outlet line also. Fit it with a hose bib fitting to attach a garden hose to then viola it comes in handy for watering-in seeds and seedlings when they are first planted.

Hydro, the challenge has to do with the temperature of the earth compared to the temperature of the water. My goal is to grow tilapia which require water at around 80 F and the temp of earth is below that, especially during the winter. So, insulating helps us to not lose the heat we're creating either with the solar collector or electricity. Depends on the goal of the insulation... :)

Well, we have a week's hard work and a tank in the ground. The pics below show Tom's most excellent work at digging a hole; Victoria' fun inside the "fish tank" cleaning the paste off the insides; and finally a tank in the hole. Whew!

Of course, no AP system would be complete without a blue tank army...

If all goes well this weekend, the floor will be finished (again) and the army will be inside the greenhouse. Then the real fun begins...

A person could go many ways with the hole in the ground, the hole in the IBC, and the dog house. I'm guessing Tom is saying that the greenhouse is my playground and he is my greatest support. Of course, the mention of fish doesn't hurt. ;-)

We used a whole lot of things to try and get that darn stuff off. It is water soluble and that seemed to help but in the daylight this morning, I could see where the scraping off of what was moist and simply left a very thin layer behind that was harder than ever to remove. We finally resorted to some cleaner that then needed to be washed out. But, she's lovely now.
