Sweet set up. Looks mint with the timber and colourbond. Very neat finish

Cheers mate..

Yesterday i got another single flip ibc added into the system. Was going to just use the base as a stand and put hinged door on to store fish food etc... but now it's full of water.

I'm tossing up wether to..
A) put 6yabbies in just to see (but dint really interest me at this point)

B) pull my baby perch from sump tank and utilise for a grow out tank till big enough to go main tank

C) ??

Thoughts?

It's supplied from a slower constant flow ibc gb directly above and a half blue barrel gb running bell siphon. Water leaves via an slo direct to sump tank. Unfortunately the way the system had evolved means no room to pass through solids filter before returning to sump.

So today I bit the bullet and upgraded my pump pipes to the grow beds to 40mm. Was running 19mm flexi from pump and 20mm pipe. The pump was upgraded last month to a 7500L Hr unit but still only just up to the job after i added the new ibc.

Now there is huge amount of excess volume my slo in fish tank can't keep up, so I've had to bleed some back into sump tank.

Basically i was getting mixed answers as to wether the increase of pipe size would be more efficient or not, clearly it works!

Finished harvesting my trout two weekends back, as was unsure how quick the water would heat up and lack of time during the week which followed. I ended up putting two in the freezer and smoking the remaining...very impressed.

We had a hot few days following which saw water sitting around the 23-24 deg celcius so next day off i went barra shopping!

I decided to move all the perch and the couple of koi from the main tank to the new ibc tank, and use the main ft as a dedicated barra tank. After too long trying to get the last few perch out i decided they didn't want to move and hopefully were big enough to co-exist... time will tell.

So as usual thing's didn't go to plan. The next few days temps dropped to 16-17 deg in the tanks and the already stressed from their new home barra seemed to struggle.. even now temps have been 24+ for nearly a week they seem very quiet, still not eating and half of the 10 have the stress line in their heads.

I've salted to system and just monitoring them for now. The 2 larger barra seem to be slightly swimming on their sides at times but cannot see any damage or signs of disease etc
