I wouldn't be adding anymore Charlie Carp... let the ammonia and nitrite settle back to zero... then put some fish in...

quick water test this morning...

PH is down which is to be expected with ammonia dropping
Ammonia is slowly dropping but it is looking heaps better
Nitrites are still up but thats to be expected
Nitrates are up and down but its now planted and still looking good.

Checked the system tonight...

iceberg lettuce seeds have sprouted!!! :headbang:

Image

also the tomatoes have grown well in the last few days...
Image

cucumbers doing well, only lost one but it was quickly replaced by others that have sprouted from the compost in another garden...lol
Image

transplanted lettuces also doing well, lost one but the big one has thrived in the constant flood system!!

once the tests come back good i'll be adding the 20 perch and 6 cats to the sump, they will still be small for a while so hopefully will be enough to keep it ticking over. I have sourced some brooks so will be getting 20 of them, 10 each of rainbows and browns

Wow.. This setup is amazing. It's large enough but takes up so little space. Well thought out plan.
