I'll be buggered if i don't have ich on the tandanus and some of the new silver perch...................

neither dad nor emir have it as far as i know, and neither do my trout...........

There a are a couple of remaining tandans that have grown a bit, so i might set up another tank inside (reets sighs) and quarantine the lot of them at 28C and 3ppt...................

Steve, where'd you get your new SP from? What size, how much, etc.

I'll be chasing some in about a month. I was looking at the pack of 25X 4-5cm for $66 (shipped) from Live Fish (I'm going to add some ornamentals to keep DH happy.)

Still planing ATM. :)

Ich is ubiquitous. Check water quality to make sure they're not stressing over anything.

Ich is easy to deal with. Would prefer to have that than many of the other diseases.

I agree that water quality is the root cause of the fish's depressed immune system, on the ubiquitous, dunno, its not meant to be able to live without fish nor form dormant "spores".

Anyway, will check again, but i know my waters fine (i bet ya that last statements gonna bite me on the ass)

hey savage, you WANT to get some fish from kanga..............

they are bloody HUGE, some pushing 200grms

i have a delivery of 70 arriving tuesday, (not all for me :( )

Anyway, onto my system...................

pulled out all the eastern bloc watercress last weekend and planted a handfull of various seeds, from lettuce to radish to capsicum...............

Got sick of waiting for them to germinate, so had a quick squiz yesterday, caps not even thinking of germinating, something is, prolly the radish, not sure about the others.

Anyway, with summer approaching and the broad beans well and trulkly growing beans i thought i'd give the tommies a head start and planted about 6 around the very edge of the grow bed patch where the other seeds had gone and about another six in a clear area under the broad bean canopy............. by the time they find their feet and start powering along i'm hoping the beans will be done ;)

trout are still happy as, water temps have hit 18C a few times, no probs, at least one of the trout is 30cms long :)

IBC topped up to capacity approx 800L in preperation for the 70 monster perch delivery. Bundy is going to relieve me of about 25 in a week and while i don't expect nh3 or no2 to be a problem if i dont feed i can always cut out the feed to the trout as well, and considering how much i've been feeding them the bacteria should be plenty hungry enough to take up the slack. I might just add another air pump and 2 stones to the ibc (already have 1 in there) to be sure. tank temp at 9pm tonight was about 15C.

:)

Steve
