DrLuke - it's bolted on at the back and, yes, it just sits down over the cavity under it's own weight. It's about 1mm-1.2mm thick so it has some weight to it.

It's in a pretty sheltered area so doesn't get any direct wind and it's quite satisfactory like that. If it was going to be affected by strong wind I would just pop-rivet a strip of metal along the lip to give it extra weight when in place (as Steve S did in the original).

Well, I finally had to replace the Optima pump.

Went in: 14-Mar-2010
Came out: 27-May-2012

So about 26-27 months.

It didn't actually die, but I think the main bearing is on it's way out and as the FT is essentially part of the house the noise it was making was not well received by the women !

Anybody know if you can get in and replace the bearing on the Optima ? Joel ??

Well, I've been picking lotsa veges, but it gets kinda boring putting photos up of those all the time.

So, I've finally got something new to put up - the IBC's I'm converting into wicking beds :cheers:

I had clay balls stuck in mine.....took it to the Sites sparky's ( nice guys got sprayed with fish crap all over) and they fixed the lot !!! now I have like 6 or 7 spare pumps :mrgreen:
