Hi Padeur and Fishstreet

Through this excellent thread & site - I started my small system in March 2014, here in Yuen Long.
I started with a 200L aquarium and 2 grow beds - now expanded to 4 ! Things are growing well, as I learn.
I also bought clay balls (around 130L to date) from Mong Kok for my small system but was so expensive. Now they don't have stock of the 50L bags, can only buy 10L bags.......

I also welcome info on a good contact for clay balls, as I am just putting in 12 new grow beds for my 2nd system based around a 700L tank ! I will likely need 300-400L of clay balls for the new system. I can travel anywhere in HK for pickup (except closed road areas).

Am also interested where is the best place to source fish for the system, as i am currently using a motley mix of aquarium fish to cycle the systems, but want edible fish in the larger system.......in the near future. I don't mind if tilapia, perch, cat fish etc etc....just willing to try whatever is easy to obtain!!

Thanks to all on here for the resource and the info !

Hey guys,

I found this forum and thread through google.

I'm just starting out with AP and was wondering what would be a good, tasty fish for our temperature ranges?
I don't want Tilapia :p Any way to get Murray Cod or Baramundi in HK?

BTW: You can buy IBC from Shenzhen via Taobao.

~800-900 RMB for brand new 1000 L ones. That way you won't have to worry about what they were used for before.

Hey everyone,

Also new to aquaponics and located in Hong Kong. You guys seem to be the only ones I can find on the internet doing backyard aquaponics in HK. Was glad to find this thread!

I don't want to hijack your personal thread, Paedur (great system btw) but I figured this would be the only place to have a chance of getting an HK related question answered. Apologies in advance.

Does anyone know where to get liner for a custom built fishtank and growbed? Any kind of safe liner would do (HDPE, LDPE, etc) but I'm having trouble finding a source here in HK that sells stuff like that. Any tips would be much appreciated!

Hi!

This is an semi off-topic question, but does anyone know where I can buy duckweed in Hong Kong?? I only need an incredibly small amount. I have a betta in a tank with a little back section that he sleeps in. I usually have water lettuce in there because he likes to hide in it but it keeps dying on me.

Thank you!
