Can you get some photos through the glass with a light behind? That'd look awesome at night (underwater lights are pretty cheap too). Looks great, good work!

yeah mate, onto the GB's now. Spoke with the better half about how she would like to see things done... the chances are we might go for 4-6, 250L round tubs (1000x400mm) and stagger them down the fenceline OR a row of troughs like i have already and run them the length of the patio...

Pro's and cons : troughs will only give around 600L of capacity for the length covered, but take less space into my patio, not restricting getting vehicles into the workshop...
Tubs give around 1000-1500L capacity but will take up slightly more area of my patio AND.. they are round... my BIG FT is rectangular... just thinking asthetics

alternatively, i could have 2 tiers of troughs for 3/4 the length of patio and not kill entry to the WS...

Thoughts???????

At the moment, i have a Bio Filter and am keeping feeding down until i link it to the existing GB's which will hopefully be sunday/monday coming. Even when the system is complete I will still probably incorporate a similar type of small pressure type filter which will feed a water feature (but thats at a later date.)

Ok, good <sigh>
You had me scared for a bit there thinking you've just added fish to that lovely fish tank without any filtration
(it has happened a few times on the forum where people get a fish tank and put fish in it before thinking of any sort of filtration thinking they had weeks before they needed to worry about anything like that and then we get all the upset postings about all their fish dieing before the next week was half through. Sadly the even more distressing story when they try it again several months later, again before figuring out the grow beds. and then of course they never come back.)

So
I'm very glad you won't be one of those because that is such a cool fish tank and I want to keep seeing the pictures of your fish growing and showing off for the camera in such a fine tank. It's like a Photo studio for fish!!!!

Nice FT

Did you do your own brickwork? Gives me an idea for my future FT. Do you have all GB's in yet?

Mark

one of my newer growbeds starting to plant it out...
other bed planted out tomorrow, then order the 3rd bed... repeat process

need a really big algae eater.. just for something different. it would look great sucked onto my window. AND on that note.. 1 of my original little algae eaters popped up the other day on the glass... he got big!! was around 2 inches when he went in and is now pushing 4-4.5 inches

more pics hopefully tomorrow arvo.

cheers
