Steel could be an option for the horizontals that way with the rite guage (bolted to the upright posts). Also brace the posts with a cross piece from the front post to the back, one each side.

Apart from the stand everything else looks 'el' smico' ;)

that show would be sweet. i was going to fly over but couldn't get any tickets. all we here get is a lousy big day out appearance. kinda what i don't like about the new album. very commercial imo. i would feel uneasy around the kids at the bdo during the tool set. the atmosphere wouldn't be right.

fortunately i was lucky enough to see them when they toured for lateralus.
now that was a memorable night.

just a little report.

i have frames up for 2 tanks. next i will be plumbing the bath tubs up and get the system cycling. as you can see i have added a cross beam down the middle. sure did stabilize the frame. thanks for the help on that one guys/ girls. i think after a good paint job it will look good.

thanks steve and gnash.

getting there slowly but getting there. the hardest part has been sourcing cheap parts. i paid like $10 for a drain piece for the bath. thats more then i paid for the bath tub. i'm gonna check out a plumbing retail store and try get bulk.

i have been looking around for clear roof sheeting but its very expensive. looks like i may just need to fork out. that will be the last thing i add as its not essential in summer. hopefully by then i can find cheap second hand ones.

BF,try a building salvage yard(Midland area mabey?) they usually have that sort of stuff, and you can squeeze them into lowering prices  .
If you find out the cost of new stuff, take 50% off and start from there, hit them up for holes and damage and I wouldn`t be surprised if you could get it for 35-40% of new price.
P.S. go to a couple and do the old (insert name) has got it down the road cheaper trick. :D

at that price it would cost me over $400 just for the roof. this is quickly becoming a very expensive hobby. damn you eb.

BF would it be worth adding a diagonal to those frames to stop sideways movement?

greenhouse film is a lot cheaper. For about 49m2 and the rails to connect it and delivery to NQ cost $260

gnash it wouldn't hurt but i don't think its needed. its pretty solid as is. i think i will only use gravel in the bathtubs and use coco in the blue barrels.

jaymie can greenhouse film be used in the same way as sheeting to collect rain water runoff?

thanks

ours is set up like a carport roof, with a slight drop (that's going to have to be increased to cope with the rain).

The roof has a frame, then timber beams. The film is attached to the timbers on the sides, but on the ends the film rolls under the roof (closest to the front in the picture). We'll fit a gutter to it soon to catch some of the rain.
