Unfortunately the clips will open up in warmer weather. They just wont hold again after that.

I'm hoping there will still be enough strength in them, my hope  is that there will only be an issue with the ones I need to remove for summer, as they will have formed into the stretched out shape, and thus will need to replace with new ones when I re-cover for winter.

Might look into the wire lock system at that point...

NF,
Why dont you try the Stainless Steel spring Pipe clips from the "B" store?
Or those plastic clips that act as door stops, just the open piece that screws to the back of the door, not the extension bit that fits on the skirting.

Have you got a pic of what these look like?
Not sure I'm on the same page...
What are the spring pipe clips usually used for? Will they go over 40mm PVC?

Was thinking along the same lines. But with a G-clamp type of fitting so it can be tightened. Does not have to be expensive. U shaped bit of steel and tap a thread and put a bolt in it. Or if you can find the T fittings they use on fences. The zinc pipe is a similar size to PVC.

For a 40mm pipe these would retail for about $7.00, maybe $5 after discount. Wire lock comes to less than $5 m, and assuming you need one T fitting every metre then .......

Whats retail.
Steel place down the road has the T's under $2. Free if you find someone upgrading a fence. What does wire lock look like.

Yeah I think it is fast stacking up to be wire lock...

I'll probably do a bodge this year, and re-think next year. Taking off the PVC clips now will only end up in holes (already found that with some required adjustments). Live and learn.

I just need to think through how to attach the channel without weakening my PVC structure.

Drilling holes not really desirable...

Maybe I could manufacture some straps to wrap around the pvc, and attach back to the channel.

That's the stuff Duff.

There are some other versions also, that use a rubber seal in the place of the wire spring.

Here's a website that has some pics also: http://www.redpathaghort.com/accessorie ... stems.html

Here are some pics of the final bodge up of the greenhouse ends (couple more rolls of duct tape later).

Still might fit a door in the end, or maybe that can wait until I sort out the cover properly next season.
Hmm some bodge jobs do stick around for a while though  ...

I still need to trim the overhang on the end pieces, but that can wait for now, all works, so I can get some focus back onto the plants again. As you can see from the pics, I have a couple of bare looking beds at present.

Trout are going well, so hopefully can get that rectified fast enough.
