I am looking into purchasing some maxicrop. There are so many different kinds. Do I need the kelp kind or the kind made of fish? Also when I get it, how much do I add to the 110 gallon tank?

I use the kelp type, and around 1 cup of concentrate per 1000 litres :)

So the winter experiment was a success. We did not have much production as far as the plants go, but we did learn a ton about the principles of aquaponics. We did have fresh tomatoes all winter. About 2-5 per week. cherry tomatoes that is... and my wife and I did both enjoy one huge salad from the aquaponics. The main problem we saw was the light situation. The plants were constantly leggy and we just could not seem to get enough light to them. So with that problem being major, we decided to build a greenhouse. WE have finished construction on the house and have installed the aquaponics to its new location. I will try to get some pics this weekend. We managed to salvage the tomato plants. We also planted an entire new crop of greens and some root plants, radishes, beets, etc. We will see how things go now that they have the sun at their disposal. Thanks to all of you for all of your continued help.

ok. So the greenhouse is up and running. It is amazing at the difference it is making. I will get some pictures this weekend. I have some pics for comparison. I planted some radishes in the AP and some in the ground. You can really see the difference. I also planted some carrots. The germination rate is amazing. Every seed came up. Not so in the ground.
