sounds good Froggo. Will have to check out a few suppliers. I use a green bunnings cont for my fish. Didn't have any warning sign. don't know of any problems with them.

Hi mizzie44,

checked out the new price today of those sewer tanks you got second hand. They are 3200litres and cost $1100 new.

I thought after seeing yours they may be cheaper than equal size rainwater tanks. Not so, same price at the places that I looked at.

Still scanning the second hand stuff in the papers for some treasure,

God bless froggo.

Hi mizzie44,

thanks for that. I will keep it in mind as I'll prob end up extending my system  .

I was suprised at the cost from my local plumbing shop. I knew they could not be the same price as rainwater tanks  .

I found a 5000litre tank for $880 which I brought, everyone else local was around $1300 for the same size.

On your system mizzie44, the 90mm pipe into your fish tank, is the pipe 90mm inside the tank also?

Are you drawing the water from the centre of the tank? If you could post a picture of inside your tank that would be a great help,

thanks and God bless froggo.

cheers

don't know how the reddies work other than they are substrate spawners, would need the boy to do his bit 8) I suppose there is a chance they could be fertile, in which case, put them in a tub of water with an airstone and see what happens  you never know.

hi ruins the trout are going great, because of the size of the fish tank there has been very little temp change, and that is in my glass house with a temp reading of 32 deg..
the out side tank is 3000 litres that handles 11 bath tubs..
the insde tank is 2500 litres that handles 4 bath tubs and 5 recycle tubs, all this runs into a central sump 0f 2500 litres, so i dont know haw i will go for temp in the summer time will tell...

we have been turning the house upside doown looking for the camera as yet no luck :( :boohoo:

Ruins, if you want to have trout over summer, you will need to fully shade the whole system with at least 80% shadecloth, and be able to restrict your pumping regime to mostly overnight circulation.
