Looking pretty good Cookie!

I know the feeling with pruning the tomatoes, it's hard to figure out where to start.

With the no filtering, how are the roots looking (although they look pretty dirty in the ground too :P)? Everything looks like it's growing quite well.

ok its been a long time but here I go..
Ok its been like 7 months since I haven't clean my filters nor performed any water changes im my system.

amm 0ppm
nitrite 0ppm
nitrates 20ppm
ph 7.1
EC 690 micro siemens.
water clarify clear.

well I finished with my conversion from DWC to media beds, reason being 1. the Styrofoam usually breaks apart after a tomato rotation.. also the added surface area will help alot with aeration and mineralization.. so its a win win.
well I got a batch of 50 tomatoes trees already 3 weeks in and the other batch of 50 tomatoes tress are at 1 week in.. everything to grow green and great.. but I'll let u all be the judges.. enjoy

Hi Cookie,

Looks like your off to a good start on the tomatoes. Time to harvest some of that Basil :thumbright: . It's definitely the biggest Basil plant I've ever seen.

Cheers

Have you grown tomatoes in AP before?
I think you'll find they might be too closely planted?
Roots might clog up the bed.

Cookies been at this a while and he's pretty good at it.

thx u all telon the funny thing is that basil didn't start off as a plant.. I went to Tobago(Caribbean) for holiday and in the market a vendor was selling some seasoning and it was the first time I smelled that type of basil.. so bought a lil branch.. place in the fridge and took it back to home after 5 days... then stuck it into the bed.. and after 5 months it became that..
jayendra yes u are correct normally close spacing does bring about some clogging problems I am very familiar to them... but when the media is 1 inch to 2 inch grade... with the very large pore spaces like that.. clogging rarely happens and well it helps to have extremely clean clear water.. like this

Image

I grew my fair share of tomatoes before.. just haven't seen it flowers this fast before... im excited :D.. I'll keep the updates coming.

yea I do put in alot of time and research into them.. and yes im forcusing on tomatoes because I want to open a business later on so I'm trying to standardize consistency In tomatoes production.. so basically im making a practical model which I can use to scale up after. goal is to produce 3000 + lbs of tomatoes..
