The feed conversion rate is 1 to 1 for rainbow trout and here Joel is pictured demonstrating the ability of the fish to cooperate with this process

Sharing with like minded people

The trout were fingerlings 7 weeks ago and have maintained consistent growth - phenomenal. Initaially until the system had cycled at 4 weeks we were only feeding 1/2 a handful a day, now we can feed at least twice daily and always when we have visitors. I am aiming to get 50kg of commercial food into them in the 6 month period to be able to harvest 50kg trout, it does not look like being a problem, as they are willing.
