Jaymies right, pah. but we can compensate by adding rock with high levels of trace/ micro elements like min plus. The main reason why some volcanic islands have such fertile soils is the volcanic rock itself!

i am in the process of building a small system for the primary school i work at, same sort of thing i have at home, using a fish tank and some pvc piping.

question, why not make the growbed medium out of volcanic rock? wouldnt this be the same as adding it to the system oneself.

some people already are, DTHawk is in El Salvador, he has no choice but to use volcanic rock, literally picks it up off the lava flows

and so that would eliminate the need to add anything or would you still be lacking something?

is it easy to get here in OZ, is it expensive ?
