good idea to pencil the date on the eggs. i do this so i know how old they are. useful when you have 5 cartons of eggs in the fridge and you don't know which eggs are which.

i'm jealous, i have no room for chickens! parents have chickens, ducks, geese and all i have is fish and yabbies :P

Pencilling the date is a great idea! I'll definitely be stealing that one.

I was expecting the eggs to be yolk less but they were perfect inside, just a bit on the small side 50 grams or so. The yolks were a deep rich orangey yellow, and tasted amazing.

Ah home grown eggs, how I've missed you :)

Freshly cracked egg, 20 minutes from chooks bum to plate...

Note the very thick albumen and domed yolk, something that week old eggs from the supermarket simply don't have.
