In the DWC system at the moment there are 30 ten inch Tilapia, filtration is RFF,60l net filter then onto a 60l barrel roughly 3/4 full with Bio Balls, there is air added in this barrel as well.Feed is 250 grammes daily of 25% protein food, split over three feeds.Stocking to be decided on the other tanks when its all up and running,i have fish waiting to go in i will grade them when the time comes,i will also get a bag of fingerlings which is roughly 30 in the small tank.

This is the part where I ask you and cookie about your stocking densities :D .?

I really don't know my stocking densities because the fishes reproduce quickly!! but what I can say is that I feed them 400g of fish food a day.

I so wanted to say Chicken, but no its quite a plain fish really, when we eat it its either barbecued with the sides slashed and lots of sea salt rubbed in or done in a broth as in Tom Yam Bla,that has lots of lemon grass, garlic and lime, when its barbecued we have dips made up of garlic, chillies, fish sauce, lemon grass etc etc,so you pick a piece of fish, dip it in the sauce and eat with a lump of sticky rice,i am a bit squeamish so i always leave the heads eyes etc to the Thais.

Great.. no complaints other than too much tomatoes.. I don't know what to do with it.. I see places where I can improve on it but.. all in all I'm pleased with the inline MT.. I cant remember how ammonia and nitrite spikes looks like.. and nitrates are off the charts and yet it isn't negatively affecting growth.. I have been neglecting the system quite a bit des days.. because it became soo constant.. pH fall everday so CaOH is being used for buffering... I got no complaints so far.. and haven't clean filter as yet!!

Cookie,

Still watching with a lot of interest. I am looking at scaling up in the next few months. Question, how well do you think your design will scale up?

That is funny, that is almost exactly the amount of water I am thinking to have in my fish house (38421.93liters). Before the filtration, GBs, and DWCs. It will be nice to see how yours goes.
