I know the pH is high and ammonia looks pretty good, but what do no2 and no3 mean? I figure system must be pretty much cycled with ammonia at .25.

Well I don't think the ammonia is looking good for summer temperatures.. winter yeap...
Considering average water temp of about 28degC... higher on some days... ammonia is toxic at 0.2

Although I would be more concerned about the nitrite levels... get salt into the tank quickly... nitrite is pretty much toxic from any trace if you don't have salt in the system.

Nitrate is alright at 40, even up to 100...

Well that was incredibly obvious. Wish I'd thought of that!

Barra in our small system now get the idea... Whenever I go near the tank they hover at the top and they jump out for pellets. Not as impressive as trout but still not that big; most still <10cm in length.

SP on the other hand are timid things; I'd expected the other way around from reading on here. They will eat the food but not readily if I'm watching, and they will generally grab food and swim straight away to far side of tank.

All fun to watch!

A couple of pics I took yesterday. Amazed at the growth in the new system.
Tigerella tomato. Have eaten a few already... Very tasty. Have to save some seeds from these guys!

Hannah's mum bought a few chilli plants a while ago and never did anything with them, gave them to us almost dead. Aquaponics brought them back and fruiting a week later. Love purple chilli plants!

Wanted more heirloom tomatoes but had to take what I could find. These are just normal boring plants from B but have turned into a jungle.
